Tom Giffin - 2000 Biography
Genie and I have been married for 21 years. We have 3 sons. William, who will be a Sophomore at Western Michigan University, Donald, who will be a senior at Gaylord High and Ben, who will be in the third grade at North Ohio. I am employed at Georgia Pacific Corp. in the Maintenance Dept. I served in the Army for 3 years. I was stationed in Europe and Vietnam. I received Military Decorations from the U.S. Government and the Government of Vietnam.
I have worked with the youth of Otsego County for a number of years. I taught hunter safety for the DNR at the Northland Sportsman Club and also worked with Troop 1 of the Boy Scouts in Gaylord, as assistant scoutmaster and safety director. In 1980, I received the letter of merit from the Marlin Firearms Company for Outstanding Achievement in hunter safety training. In 1982, I was elected Sportsman of the Year for the Northland Sportsman Club. I am a life member in the NRA and North American Hunting Club. Our family spends our free time enjoying scouting, hunting, fishing and camping in the Great Lakes area.
