Judi Snell - 2016 Biography

(Family)

My first grandchild turned 1 year old on August 6th.   Scarlette Kay was born to my youngest son, Adam and his wonderful lady, Stephanie.  Scarlette is the light of our lives and I could fill a book about her... but I won't!   In 1998  I "inherited" six others grandchildren  (1 girl and 5 boys) but they were older when John and I got married. There's just something special about the "baby" years that will steal your heart and create a bond that will last forever.   All 3 of my kids are in Michigan...Flatrock, Bay City and Grand Rapids,  and we see each other often, but not often enough. We have no four legged "kids" or "grandkids" but we enjoy those belonging to others.

(Work)

My husband, John, and I enjoy being together, whether it's golfing, traveling or hunting.  We have a trip to Montana planned for late October to hunt mule deer and whitetails.  We spend mid-October through mid-May in Stuart, Florida where we enjoy golfing, scuba diving, and spending time with friends. Mid-May through October is spent in Gaylord where we enjoy flower gardening, golfing at one of the many Gaylord courses, entertaining family and friends and just relaxing to enjoy the beautiful Gaylord summer weather.  We just sold our boat, so we are out of boating, at least for awhile.  We just didn't seem to have time to get away on boat.  When fall arrives, we stay busy preparing our property for winter.  We return to Gaylord mid-November to deer hunt with sons and grandsons, always a time for telling stories, some stories are true ...some are not....eating comfort food,  laughing and enjoying the great camaraderie.  Some of our hunters are successful, some are not (extra venison is donated to the homeless shelter), but we always leave hunting camp a few pounds heavier. I have been extremely blessed and still have my Mother (now 95) with me.  She still has a wonderful sense of humor, and as you can imagine, she moves a little slower... but then I'm retired so never in a hurry.   We enjoy hanging out together.  John lost his mother early, so he also enjoys having her with us.

(Other Things)

I believe we were very fortunate to grow up in a time of small towns, the same classmates from kindergarten to senior year, teachers we respected, friends we cherished, fresh air to breathe and clean water to drink.  Life was good and memories are treasures!
