Sue Coultes - 2000 Biography

I retired from teaching elementary school last fall after teaching for 29 years. I volunteer at our local elementary school one morning a week listening to first graders read. I love having the time to do the things I never found time to do while teaching. I still have many hobbies and interests waiting for me to find the time to get back to them again even though I have had months. It's so much fun to be retired - getting up when I want, traveling when I want, volunteering...

Our daughter, Erin, graduated from Western Michigan University this spring. She will be looking for a job in the Chicago area in the near future. Erin spent a semester studying in France last winter and was anxious to take Mom over as a graduation present. Somehow our destination changed from France to Scotland and Ireland. Since my family originates there, it was a logical move. We have just returned from a 3 week stay. It was wonderful! I'm ready to go back again. I'm looking forward to being able to travel other than summers. My husband opted out of the trip to Europe but I'm hoping to get him to travel with me. If not, I have sisters willing to fill the gap!

One sister will be here from Florida during July. Her daughters will be joining her for a family reunion - the same dates as the class reunion. Since they haven't all been together in years, that's where I'll be. My thoughts will be with you as you renew friendships.
